Reading the news here is free and always will be — every story links back to the publisher, and that does not need an account. Paying removes the advertising and lifts the limits.

Why the free plan is not crippled
We are a way to reach the news, not a substitute for it. Every story here links back to the publisher who wrote it, and putting that behind a payment would be charging for someone else's work. So reading is free, and what costs money is the part that costs us money to run — advertising removed, mail sent, and models called on your behalf.
What you are not paying for
- Access to the articles. Those are the publishers' and always were.
- Your own data. It is not sold on either plan, and there is no arrangement under which it would be — see the privacy notice.
- Being able to leave. Deleting your account deletes it, on either plan.
Questions
- Can I read without an account?
- Yes. The news, the channel directory and every story page are public. An account is for remembering what you follow and what you saved.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- The account carries on as a free one. Nothing you saved or followed is deleted.
- Is there a yearly price?
- Not yet. When there is, it will be listed here rather than offered only at the point of leaving.
- Do you sell my reading history?
- No, on either plan.
